Professor Christopher Bulstrode is Jane Barton's Brother

05:43, Posted by Rebel1, 5 Comments

This is shock news to us. Apparently, serial Liverpool Pathway implementer Dr Jane Barton is Professor Christopher Bulstrode's sister. As everyone is aware, Professor Bulstrode was a GMC Committee member.

It is interesting to note that Ms Diamorphine has not been suspended despite various reports and findings against her. This is rather curious.

Both are Oxford University graduates.

I hope we're not going to find out that Professor Christopher Bulstrode did not in any way have dealings with Jane Barton's case as part of his GMC work. If so (and I don't know if it has or has not occurred) then there would be a serious conflict of interest which the GMC may have permitted to occur.

I agree there may have been a conflict of interest but let's find out if there was one before we say people are guilty, shall we?

Bulstrode can surely hardly be blamed for having a sister.

Fitness to Practise is an independent body and is in no way connected to the GMC Council. If you read the comments from the main GMC yesterday (29 Jan 10), they were amazed that Dr Barton wasn't struck off and are looking into it further. Prof Bulstrode hasn't been connected in any way with the hearings. He isn't on the GMC, and isn't and has never been connected to Fitness to Practise as far as I am aware.

The GMC has a habit of "predetermining" verdicts
GMC panels are made of up panellists, selected by the GMC, briefed by the GMC and audited by the GMC and paid between £300 and £500 a day by the GMC

Independent??? I don't think so!
